The treaty
I learnt about the treaty
August 6th of 1840  the British crown  travelled around the world to make a treaty to the native chiefs of New Zealand. James Busby  gave the treaty to hone heke  to tell the native chiefs of NZ about it. The treaty says my dear friends a warship   has arrived with   chiefs onboard sent by the queen of england to be a governor for us both. Now he suggests for all the chiefs confederation of nz on wednesday  of this holy coming week should gather to meet him. from your friend james busby

The Maori used the taiaha as traditional weapons and the mere while these weapons were feise enough the introduction of the musket from around the turn of the century changed everything
